First of all I would not use this, cause it is not symmetrical at all. It's poor designed crap. Second of all if I would use it ... I would remove everything except for that blue with the magic wand; select blue logo, invert selection and delete background. Thank you!

Just magic wand out the blue, it's all 1 color. Cut and paste to new document with transparent background. Literally 5 seconds.

that preview is a from an auto-vectorized bitmap asset (meaning it's a "copy protected" image of an illegal copy)

You can recreate that shape (without the symmetrical errors) in literally less than 5 minutes in Photoshop (or Gimp or else). What are you complaining about exactly ?
