Love it!

I love this book, just in time for Halloween there is alot of cute and creepy creatures and some of your classic fairy tale favorites. Some of the images are very detailed while others are more sketched so you can add your own twist to it. Ive been using watercolor brush pens and gel pens,, the paper has been fairly good as long as ou don't get it sloppy wet it doesn't mess up the picture on the other side.I now have all 3 of camilla d'errico's coloring books and I enjoy them sooo much thank you!

My first coloring book by Camilla

I've hesitated with Camilla's other books. Her first book was appealing, but it didn't make me feel like it was a "must have." I don't like mermaids, so her second book didn't interest me. BUT this one, omg, I love the horror aspect of it. That is right up my alley. I love the horror-related creatures. This book is larger than I expected. I thought it would be similar to the smaller Beauty of Horror books, but it isn't, it is close to the same size as the larger BOH books. I love all the creatures and feel like they will make great additions to my art albums.

Cute but not enough to color

I absolutely adored the other two coloring books so much in fact I bought them both twice. I was so excited when this one came out only to open the pages to find so many of the creatures already colored in. A large amount of the critters are gray or black. Even beyond grayscale quality coloring book. Most of these images have nothing to color. If there is something to color it might be ears or a bow or a hat but the cute creature that I got the book for is already colored in. I am extremely disappointed.

Disappointing

I was so disappointed when I received this and looked excitedly through it. The book is cute, if you're a first timer for her books. I'd been excitedly waiting to see what her imagination would come up with next. There really wasn't much new in it. Same characters with a "little" Halloween thrown in. I haven't done much in it at all and since I pre-ordered it, I got it the day it was released. She has a wonderful imagination and I guess I expected more. Since I pre-ordered it, I got it for less. I'm thankful for that. It was worth what I paid. If I had paid full price I would have been upset. I'm still a fan. I will still order her next book. A true fan is a fan even when a game is lost here or there.

Do not like this book

I love this artist and have her other coloring books, which I too love. I was excited to get this new book, only to be extremely disappointed. This is like her sketch book with a lot of dark shading on most of the pictures in the book. Also do Not care for a lot of the background elements either. I didn’t return because I love supporting this artist, but I wouldn’t buy again nor recommend it. Maybe they should advertise this as grey scale.

So Perfect!

EEEEEEEK!!! I preordered this in April and was so excited when it showed up today! Camilla d'Errico is one of my top 5 favorite artists, to admire and color. I have her other two coloring books, and am so excited to have her third one. The pictures are whimsical and adorable and gorgeous; there are detailed pics and some easier ones. There is a nice balance with gray-scale/shading which I love. Practically perfect in every way. Honestly? This may be one of the only good things to come out of 2020. Buy yourself or someone you love a little joy and pick this (or any of her books, really) up. Instant mood boost. ❤

No doubt cute however...

I find that a lot of the pictures don't really allow for much color variation (unless you're going to mix colors and get REALLY creative... which is hard because my favorite medium to color with is gel pens). It's kind of a bummer because I feel like many of the pictures I'll end up not even bother coloring.

Win for relaxing family time in October

Pros: awesome drawings, thick quality paper, pencil feels smooth and blends well on paper. There are a variety of designs, something for everyone in our family. There are pages that are cute, creepy, silly, gross, and pretty. Cons: Book doesn't lay flat, so pages need to be removed for optimal coloring. Pages have no perforation, so I have to use an x-acto blade to remove pages. Pages are double sided, so one must choose which side to display/prioritize. This makes the 2-page spread designs nearly impossible to use, but there are only a couple of those. Overall, a great addition to our October activity options 🐈⬛🎃🦇💀🧙♀️👻🕷

Very CUTE and perfect for halloween time

Overall i am happy with this book. It has lots of super cute halloween and horror type cutesy drawings to color. The paper is the same in all of her books its got a nice feel to it, im not sure how it works with markers as far as if they bleed through the next page but ive used colored pencils and acrylic paint both have worked very well. However with all of that said, this book contains quite a bit of greyscale alot of pictures have alot of shading already done for you i personally do not prefer grey scale so for me that was not great to see but other than that and a few images that seemed more like sketches transferred from a sketch book rather than a finished drawing i love this book.

Sketches with busy backgrounds

Beautiful detailed artwork. The art is in sketch form. The backgrounds, however, are kind of distracting to me and take away from the nice imagery. I was hoping to color and maybe frame some pages but most pages are too busy for my taste. It seems like the backgrounds were an afterthought just to fill the negative spaces on each page. The book is okay if just purchased for casual coloring.
